Hollywood star who died before his time and rose to stardom in just three films- Rebel Without A Cause (1955), East of Eden (1955) and Giant (1956).
James Dean became a keen motor racer, competing in numerous events. However following the end of filming for Giant, speeding in a Porsche Spyder he collided head on with another car and died at the scene. He was an icon for the disconnected youths of the post-WW2 era and has remained so for the past 50 years.
A premature death at the age of 24 has brought him to cult hero status.
R.I.P. James Byron Dean 8th February 8 1931 - 30th September 1955.
